This porcelain teapot features my rendition of the painting “Cats fighting” by Francisco de Goya in 1786. I layered glazes as well as underglazes to create this image, paired alongside a moonlit seascape on the opposite side of the teapot. The matte black glaze serves as a starry sky, while the stars are unglazed porcelain. Gold luster accents all throughout.

Despite two holes blocked by glaze, the teapot still pours and is functional. This was a complex piece to make, not just in form but in surface and image. I feel the overall art and design aspects accomplished what I was envisioning so I am proud of it, blocked holes and all!
